Frequently asked questions

If yours isn't here, email hello@rocketandraven.com.

+ Does my kid need a tablet or computer for these workbooks?

Nope — that's the whole point of Code Crew. The print book is paper-only. The tablet PDF and web companion exist for families who want a digital option, but the print edition is fully self-contained.

+ What ages is Code Crew — Grade 3 for?

Designed for ages 8–10 (Grade 3). Strong Grade 2 readers can do most of it; younger Grade 4 students will breeze through Weeks 1–4 and need to slow down on the capstone.

+ Are these aligned to the CSTA standards?

We introduce concepts from the CSTA K–12 CS Standards (Levels 1A and 1B). We don't claim official endorsement — we just publish the crosswalk in every book so teachers can show their administration where each lesson maps.

+ How long does each lesson take?

15–25 minutes a day, five days a week, for twelve weeks. Saturdays have an optional bonus 'Crew Quest' page.

+ How does the web workbook actually work?

It's an interactive 12-week quiz. Each day shows kid-friendly exercises (drag-to-reorder, click-to-toggle, finger-drawing). The Submit & Continue button auto-grades the scoreable puzzles and gives instant pink/green feedback before advancing to the next day. Open-ended exercises (drawing, journals) are saved with a grown-up signoff to advance. Works on iPad, Android, desktop.

+ Do you have a refund policy?

30-day refund on tablet PDFs and web subscriptions, no questions asked. Print books follow Amazon's return policy.

+ When are Grades 4 and 5 coming?

Grade 4 is in development; we ship a new title every quarter or so. Newsletter subscribers get the launch alert first.

+ Why "Rocket & Raven"?

Rockets launch. Ravens think. Both work.
