Code Crew
Computational thinking — no laptop required.
Programming concepts for kids who don't have a computer (or aren't allowed to use one yet). Sequencing, loops, conditionals, abstraction, debugging, algorithms — taught entirely on paper through visual puzzles, flowcharts, and unplugged activities.
Why "no laptop required"?
Most US schools push computer science down to the K–5 grades — but many families either don't have a kid-friendly device, are intentionally device-cautious, or just don't want one more screen at home. Code Crew teaches the same big ideas the on-screen tools teach (sequencing, loops, conditionals, abstraction, debugging) using paper, pencil, and conversation. When your kid is ready for a screen, they'll already think like a programmer.
Each title introduces concepts from the CSTA K–12 CS Standards (Levels 1A and 1B). We don't claim official endorsement — but we do publish the standards crosswalk in every book.
